Hello my name is ***** ***** thank you for your question.

Does the radio turn on and look like it's working, it just has no sound?

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
no the status shows: Audio OFF
There is no response when I push any of the radio related buttons or volume knob, however route, guidance, map, and camera all work as normal. Audio does not work when using guidance settings either but it does visually show the guidance. Under voice guidance settings the guidance volume is locked at minimum and cannot be adjusted
Expert:  Jay replied 7 months ago.

Try this.. Disconnect the negative battery cable for 15 mins and then reconnect it. See if that returns the radio back to normal operation.

That is considered a hard reset on the vehicle.

Let me know

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
Did the hard reset.
No change.

The radio, does it show stations as it normally would, just no sound?

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
No, it only shows: Audio OFF at the top left.
No response to any radio related buttons either.
Expert:  Jay replied 7 months ago.

Try this and let me know what happens. Press and hold the settings button and turn the radio knob backwards and let me know if the system goes into self diag...

Do no do anything in there accept what I say. If it does, go to Confirmation & adjustments and go to Error History and let me know what codes are in there

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
When I push and hold settings it just goes to the settings menu I've tried it with the volume button and tune button turning both left and right nothing seems to change
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
Should the car be running or not?
I assume backwards means counter clockwise?
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
OK it just went into system diagnostic mode I'm looking at confirmation adjustment now
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
Under error history it says:
XM Antenna Connection Error 1There is also a button that says: Delete log
Expert:  Jay replied 7 months ago.

Ok.. Hang on..

Expert:  Jay replied 7 months ago.

Do you happen to have a test light?

Expert:  Jay replied 7 months ago.

Who changed the battery? You or a shop?

Customer: replied 7 months ago.

Customer: replied 7 months ago.

I have a test light now
Expert:  Jay replied 7 months ago.

This is how you want to check fuses using a test light. I would like to check all fuses, inside the car and under the hood. Let me know what you find.

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
All fuses work except F10, F11, F12 and the heated mirror fuse
Customer: replied 7 months ago.
I'm not sure why but I went back to the system diagnostic menu and now their error shows: XM Antenna Connection Error 2I haven't done anything else in that menu
Expert:  Jay replied 7 months ago.

I am on the road right now. I will be back online around 7 pm EST.. Can we continue then?

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
thank you
Expert:  Jay replied 7 months ago.

Kind ran into some things.. sorry for the delay.

F10 F11 and F12? Where do you see that?

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
The fuse box under the hood, I believe they are for the lights
Expert:  Jay replied 7 months ago.

If all fuses are good, it sounds like something may have been shorted by a voltage surge. Normally I would have thought a hard reset would have worked. Now you would need to remove the Radio and send it out to be checked.

These radio's are tricky to remove. How many miles do you have on the truck?

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
99,000
I'll be out of town this weekend.
Can we pick back up on Monday?
I'll try another hard reset when I get home.
Expert:  Jay replied 7 months ago.

Sure, weekends I am not online that much anyway. Talk to you monday!

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
Sorry this took so long, something I noticed over the weekend; the proximity alarm does not seem to work either. It gives an indication on the display, but the audible alarm isn’t working.
Expert:  Jay replied 7 months ago.

How did you test the alarm?

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
When you backup to park it automatically switches to “camera” on the screen and gives you a visual (green, yellow, red) indication when you’re approaching something.
It also gives an audible “beep” that increases in rate as you get closer to the object. I noticed over the weekend that the camera still works, but the beep does not.
Expert:  Jay replied 7 months ago.

I am currently working. Can we continue this later this evening around 7 pm EST?

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
Something different has happened over the past two days. Twice when we've started the car the radio has worked without any problem....
It's only happened twice out of maybe 20 starts, but all the other times, the radio hasn't worked.
Any thoughts?
Expert:  Jay replied 7 months ago.

It is a electrical part. It can be intermittent like that.

Expert:  Jay replied 7 months ago.

I would have it checked when it's not working to isolate the issue so it can be resolved. This is going to require hands on diagnostics.
