Customer Question

I own FX45 2004, dealer told me needs a new engine for 26K!!!
JA: How many miles are on the car? Is it an automatic or a manual transmission?
Customer: now it's at a local shop, originally had P0174 code.
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Now they checked it's new code p0300
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: The car was idling very badly and using lots of gas. City driving 8mpg, freeway about 10mpg.

what are they saying is the failure

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
last week when they gave the P0174 code. They said it was passenger side O2 sensors that were to replace. Maybe also the other 2 later. Today I took it to them and they said a new code P0300 cylinder misfire. Now no need to change the sensors. But will run another diagnostic test. I guess the dealer told me back in May 2016 that cylinder #6 was misfiring, is it the same issue. Two weeks ago I had also Radator leak so it was replaced with a new one at this same auto shop in my neighborhood. I am worried what to do. I already spent lots of money. Oh, btw, back in may the dealer replaced the Mass Airflow Meter. Anything to do with that. this current issue. Look to hear from you, my car has 105000 miles.
