HI there,

To be clear it's a no crank no start issue?

Automatic or manual transmission?

Ok,

When you try to start it, do you hear any sounds at all?

A single click or series of rapid clicking?

Expert:  Mike V. replied 5 months ago.

Ok

When you crank the engine is the security on solid or flashing?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Not sure. Not at home with car. What could be the issue with either way
Expert:  Mike V. replied 5 months ago.

If it's on solid or flashing, then the immobilizer has the fuel shut off. It's a fairly common issue on the 99's. The key loses it's programming and the security system shuts you down.

It could also have a bad fuel pump or possibly issues with a cam or crank sensor. Security is the most common problem however. If that is the case, then you need to have the keys reprogrammed. This can only be done by the dealer and sometimes a mobile locksmith.

That being said, if the light goes out when you turn the key on, then we have to check it for fuel and spark. This is where those other sensors come into play.
