So did you make sure you added more water after he thermostat opened because you have very little time to add the needed coolant

Expert:  Joe Barfield replied 6 months ago.

should be around 212 after Hot on your dash gauge or reading it on a function scanner

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
coolant is full
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
if hot should fan be on
Expert:  Joe Barfield replied 6 months ago.

Well the fan should go on & off at Idle when hot in traffic or just in park after it warms up.....if they do it should just be a temp sensor on the engine a scanner would show the exactemp

Expert:  Joe Barfield replied 6 months ago.

Sounds like its just not reading correct.......or like the valves would make noise when the car is pushed hard.......please rate my answer as this is how I get paid Thanks Joey

when car overheated before the car would run rough so could shut down before damage vehicle. Not doing that . Could it be a bad temperature gauge. Or fan bad
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
