Hello my name is ***** ***** thank you for your Question.

How off is the gauge reading about? Do you know?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I put 5 gals of fuel and its reading over 3/4 of a tank
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
When I tap on the top of the dash it goes down to a1/4 tank and that should be about right
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I have not received a response. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong

Sorry for the delay.. How handy are you?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Not to bad
Expert:  Jay replied 1 year ago.

This issue is could be both fuel senders or the actual fuel gauge.

What I would like to know is how handy you are. This way you can remove the fuel senders to do some checks to see if we can properly identify whether it's the senders or the gauge causing your issue.

If you put 5 gallons in with a close to empty tank and your reading over 3/4 of a tank, it sounds like it could be a gauge..

But let me know if you feel you can remove both fuel senders. They are located under the back seat.

Is this a coupe or sedan?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Coupe.i replace the sender on the passenger side . When you turn the car on the gauge goes to 3/4 then if I tap on the dash it goes down to a 1/4

Ok... That for sure sounds like it's a gauge issue then. But to replace the gauge, you have to replace that whole cluster assembly. That whole assembly is around 600 bucks, plus the mileage has to get written to it as well.
