my 2001 Q45 has had an intermittent problem of not turning the car on when the key is turned. You try again and it works just fine. Recently it has started to take more turns of the key when it acts up. Any ideas?

Hello and welcome to Just Answers I would be happy to assist you.
There are a number of problems that could be occuring,
First of all if the vehicle is not Cranking when you are turning the key that may be indications of the ignition switch going bad.
I would say the ignition switch (where you put the key in) is bad, the solder points are very common to wear out causing the car to start, but not continue to run (complete the electrical circuit).
