Infiniti G35 X: How hard is it to replace the spark plugs

Customer Question

How hard is it to replace the spark plugs

Hi My Name isXXXXX you for using Just Answer.com I am an Infiniti Master Technician and I will do my best to assist you with your Question

Not too bad on that engine. You just have to remove the air bellows on the drivers side. The passenger side is a little harder to get to, but if you unbolt all the harness brackets you can sneak the coils out.

Don't be surprised if you see some oil in the spark plug wells. The valve covers tend to leak. Unfortunately you can't replace the o-ring seals you have to replaced the whole valve cover.

Getting the old alternator out was a bear. So I hope I have a better method
of getting the new on in. The electrical connections are on but I cant turn
the alternator to the correct angle.

It is tough I know. I do not like doing them myself. What is probably getting in the way is the harness for the oil pressure switch and the oil cooler hose. Also give the alternator some slack by not clipping the power wire to the metal bracket that bolts to the alternator.

Keep trying but take a break if you get too frustrated.

Good luck
