I have a residant visa in new zeland. My passport is expired

I have a residant visa in new zeland. My passport is expired in septembrr this year. There is no embassy for my countray.
It is not safe to travel to my countrat at this stages.
Do i need to let the immgration now?

Your residency visa will expire with the passport, so you will need to get in touch with immigration and see if you can arrange temporary papers while you get your passport renewed. You should do this as a matter of urgency so that you still have current papers

You are likely to be able to stay but you will not be able to travel until you get a new passport. If you have bee here five years you may want to consider applying for citizenship
