You should ask the lawyer to send a sealed copy of the order of dissolution. If the lawyer does not have a sealed copy you can get on from the Family Court where you made the application. In New Zealand the sealed order is sufficient for getting remarried, but you could arrange for a notary to certify a copy, although that would be at a cost.Do you still have the details of your lawyer that you used in New Zealand? That would be the most efficient. The record is not available except to the parties as family court files are confidential and not in the public record.
