Are you allowed to back date an invoice in order to have it

Customer Question

Are you allowed to back date an invoice in order to have it paid quicker

The time for payment of invoice does not depend on the date of the invoice, but on the terms under which the services or the goods are sold. If the invoice is silent on the time for payment, often 20th of the month following is used, but sometimes the invoice will say, payment in 7 days or something like that. But if there is no prescribed time, then back dating the invoice won't change that it will be due as from the date you get it, nit when it is dated.
