Can we claim against Computershare Australia $$4924 in

Customer Question

Can we claim against Computershare Australia for NZ$$4924 in the NZ Small Claims Court?
We mailed a valid Transfer form to them in early January 2015, but instead of transferring to the discretionary beneficiary as instructed, they transferred to someone else, but don't know who!
The sum claimed is the value at the end of January. The market price has fallen from AUD $29.26 then to AUD $25.92 today.

The Disputes Tribunal should be able to take this case if you can show the claim arose in New Zealand. But I suspect that this may not be the case. There are similar tribunals in Australia although you would need to arrange a hearing by telephone or Skype.
