Hello. We purchased a Samsung TV from Noel Leemings on 14th December 2010. The sound has steadily deteriorated. I contacted Sky TV and after two visits and some emails we agreed it wasn't their fault. I am considering getting a refund - I am not confident that a repair will fix the problem. What are my rights?
Already Tried: I contacted Sky by email or on the phone. I have had a technician replace the LNB on the satellite dish, thinking that may have been the cause.

With any consumer product you have the right to claim a repair or refund if there is a substantial defect within a reasonable time from purchase. The issue is whether in your case this television should have lasted this long.
You should contact Noel Leemings as the first step. You should check if there was any warranty on the product, and companies like that will often confirm if you have lost the paperwork. You should ask them to repair, and tell them you think this should not have happened as the television is not that old. A consumer item like this should last for a reasonable number of years. If they do not help you or refuse, you could go to the Disputes Tribunal and make a claim for either the cost of repairs or a refund. The act which applies to your situation is the Consumer Guarantees Act.
