hi i have a outstanding credit card in South-Africa and legal action is being taken against me for not paying.My question is will this effect my credit status in New Zealand and can it have any implications on me. Regards

They may have trouble enforcing the debt in New Zealand but they could log this as a default in the New Zealand credit rating companies depite this being an overseas debt. If they record this in any way which is wrong you are entitled under the Privacy Act to have the incorrect information changed so that it is accurate.
Just to understand your answer this can have a implication on me with my credit rating in NZ.How would they do this to the banks have a affiliation or is there a "international credit rating"
They would simply lodge this as a default with a credit rating agency. They dont need a judgment to do this.
