What is the strength of the United Nations Convention on the rights of children as to the New Zealand policy on immigration, as we have two children whose parents are both overstayers, and are trying to make application to settle here in New Zealand and they both have an illness which cannot be treated in the islands where their parents come from, so we are trying to find out why under the rights of these children born in new zealand cannot be used to assist these children and their parents, because this is not about the parents, its about these children, who are being denied to be protected and cared for under this convention, just because their parents are overstayers, new zealand has sign the convention, so why are they breaching by not allowing to be protected through this legislation, can we help these children under that convention
Already Tried: We are currently using a lawyer but he said that he is puzzled that immigration said they do not qualify under new zealand immigration laws what does this mean

This has been argued but unsucessfully I am afraid in a number of cases
What you need is to get politicians to support this application and make submissions to the Minister of Immigration.
