Did you have recent injury ?
To start rest the back..
Find position of comfort / easychair may help / lying on side with pillow between knees / or lying on back with pillow under knees
ALEVE 2 tablets twice a day with food and OK to alter this with Tylenol 500mg tablets 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours but to limit to no more than 4000mg in 24 hour period ...
Apply cold pack to back 15 minute intervals
Apply topical such as Aspercream and that may help

It sounds that you more likley strained your back > pulled /injured muscles more likley..
You would need a period of rest > muscle strain in not too severe should be showing improvement within a week time frame.
Don't hesitate to visit your doctor if you have need ( watching for neurological signs such as weakness of legs or numbness..)
