I've had two ocular migraine episodes. April 2nd and may

Customer Question

I've had two ocular migraine episodes. April 2nd and may 27th. They have both been 1 week before my period. I started on the mini pill deblitane. Will this help prevent these episodes from happening. I have had extreme anxiety about when the next one will strike and I live in fear nearly every day. Any help is appreciated

Nope. Had a mri of my head and neck with contrast that was normal. Ekg, amd blood work to rule out other possibilities as well

I do have some for when they happen. But I'm wanting to prevent them entirely. They freak the absolute crap out of me
Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 5 months ago.

they should start you on a preventative then like topamax

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
She wont. I don't fit the criteria for having episdoes frequently. Will the mini pill help at all since it's around my period
Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 5 months ago.

yes, it will help

Now these episodes won't cause me to go blind or anything goes bad? I'm afraid to have them at work where I will have nowhere to go and I'll have a panic attack. I'm afraid when I lose my vision
Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 5 months ago.

No, they won't.

i'm sure of it

Any tips to remain calm if I have another episode? Is this likely something to continue to happen. It's so weird I've never had them before in my life
Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 5 months ago.

Try to rest, relax and take deep breaths. Go in a dark room and try to calm down

That is really all you can do

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Ok also I do carry excedrin migraine if I chew one at the start of an episode will it halt It. I don't know what you but I have so much fear associated with three episodes.
Expert:  Dr. Phil, MD replied 5 months ago.

it might lessen it. yes

but don't take too many cause it can cause a rebound

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Am I likely to keep getting these?
