after stenosis surgery some 5 years ago, i felt wonderful and got too active 6 weeks after surgery and picked up some heavy things in my garage. ive had stabbing and burning pain in my lumbar area ever since, i had a surgery a year ago for a bulging disc; this took some burning out of my foot but did not take the burning and aching pain out of my low back accupuncture did not work as well as radio frequency and other things can these nerves ever heal or regenerate? one neuro surgeon told me that i have enflamed nerve roots and nothing can be don. what say you?? barry in atlanta

This is Dr. Davidnerves don't heal well and don't regenerate. they are the only nerves you have when you are born with.have you had a steroid injection into your back? that could help decrease inflammation. have you tried an implanted spinal simulator?
