Hello Welcome to JA. The short answer for treating CTE, chronic traumatic encephalopathy is supportive care. There have been medication trials using a variety of medications used to treat neurodegenerative disease like Alzheimer's,, but so far no specific medication has been shown truly successful in delaying progression of cognitive impairment. Namenda (memantine) has still the best results and though not conclusive has been used in several cases as off label use. I will attach a article from the journal BRAIN, that discusses the pathology of CTE, how it mimics in some fashion the neurodegnerative changes of other diseases like frontotemporal dementia (pick's). Please get back to me to discuss this further if I can help.
