Do you have tingling sensation in the area that is transiently numb? Exactly what is the distribution of the numbness. Symmetric in both arms? Around the mouth? The cognitive spell. Are you staring. Any lip smaking? Winessed by anyone or is that how you just feel? H/o neuro disease in family? Dr frank

Basically, she drops items in her hand, & then it passes in seconds. Yes she stares off, again seconds, no lip smacking noted. Episodes have been witnessed, by her friends. No known neuro problems in family history. Should we persue a neurologist, or start with PMD?

Sounds like needs a neurologist for an exam and eeg for absence attacks (drop attacks). She might then need an MRI of the temporal lobe. Get back to me if i can help. Dr frank
