Customer Question

About a month ago I suddenly started having joint pain which moves from one hip to the other and to my left knee and leg. I usually walk with a limp and feel fatigued and no longer walk or cycle for exercise. I have tried Motrin to reduce inflammation but it is only palliative. What are possible diagnoses and what are your recommendations for a next step?

Hi there,

Your large joints are being involve and migratory in nature.

Inflammatory conditions need to be considered.

These can be:

Rheumatoid arthritis

Ankylosing spondylitis

Seronegative spondyloarthropathy

Hyperuricemia

Reiter's ( unlikely without urinary symptoms)

Hence, your next step wil be to consult with a rheumatologist.

Xrays and blood test checking the autoantibody panel will be required.

Best wishes,

It was my pleasure to help you today.
