Does Dilantin work on nerve ending pain? I am presently taking Lyrica & was previously prescribed Neurotin. The Neeurotin and now Lyrica is not helping the nerve ending pain.

What is the cause of the pain?

Unknown. I am 55 and was a trial prosecutor when muscle pain began. Pain started 20 years ago with muscle pain in the right scapular area & right foot. MRI's, Cat Scans Unremarkable. No nerve ending issues until three years later. Then Nerve endings began from skull to toes. Hospitalized at 77 lbs. Pain prevented me from eating. Evaluated for anorexia by 3 facilities. Not anorexic.
Released 3 weeks ago as a 4 week inpatient from a comprjensive rehabilitation center. Physical therapy, occupational therapy ect. from 8 am to 4:30 pm. No nerve ending pain relieve. University of Miami-Non - narcotic rehabilitative center.
Traveled with dad a doctor to Mayo in 2003. Nothing conclusive with nerve ending pain.
Diagnosed at Mayo with Painful Leg Moving Toe Syndrome. Myofacial pain syndrome, C4 C5 Encroachment. Disc Bulge C4-C5. Tear of posterior annulus, TMJ, Menstrual Loss at 37 years old, Degenerative Disk Disease. Hashimoto disease, silicone
toxicity, 4 breast deflations. Small B cup. Cause unknown of deflation. Mayo examined me twice for fibromyalgia. Not fibro. John Hopkins diagnosed me with Silicone Toxicity & removed silicone implants. Cataracts removed at 40 due to prednisone. Spasming in throat & now choking intermittently while eating. Hemlick 4 times in 2 months. Went blind in right eye 2 months ago. Housebound & no diagnosis. Opthamalogist diagnosed me with throwing Blood clots in left eye, April, 2014. Stroke work up. Nothing conclusive.
Fell out of bathtub in August 2014. Unconscious & broke all teeth & not found for 28 days. Now alone & no support, monies, or competent medical care since passing of mom a drug counselor & dad a doctor. While they were alive I had underwent continued psychological counseling, physical therapy, occupational therapy, water therapy, hypnosis, nerve blocks, hypnosis, walking, ultra sound, chiropractic care, group therapy, intravenous vitamin therapy, chelation, anti - depressants, pain medication ect. Second time utlyzing Lyrica. Any suggestions? Thanks Lisa B.

Dilantin is not a first choice in this arena. But it can work.
Before dilantin typically, lyrica and gabapentin, which you have had.
Dilantin is the same idea as gabapentin.
A different class of drugs, mainly cymbalta could be used.
Also, an older class with the same idea as cymbalta, amitryptalline.
