I was wondering about a new headache I am experiencing and wonder if I should be worrying. Could someone enter in a chat with me to give some advice.

Had a Brain CT about 12 months ago and 4 years ago that were clear.

Started having headaches off and on for the last 3 days. Went to a massage therapist and she said it feels like i have knots in my neck and upper back/shoulders. Kind of feel like the headaches start in my lower head/upper neck to the left and go up. Could something be causing this since my last CT? Just didn't know if things form that fast that can all of a sudden cause these symptoms?

From what I read online and i imagine you see a lot of people try to diagnose theirself, things in the brain grow slowly over time, so not sure if that is true or not?

You would know better then me

DrBrain : Ok. Do you experience any stiffness in your neck and does headaches feels like a tight band?

Customer :

Its does not feel like a tight band but just off and on dull ache

not sharp or anything like that

Customer :

The headache is new in that I have not had one to last or get one 3 days in a row

DrBrain : Ok I think younhave muscle tension headache which can linger for days.

Customer :

So no symptoms that I have sound alarming?

Customer :

Would I have other symptoms if something bad was going on?

DrBrain : If you have muscle spasm in your neck it can radiate to your head.

Customer :

my neck on one side and upper shoulder have bad knots

DrBrain : If you had something alarming then you would have constant throbbing headache and in morning it would be worse.

Customer :

No it does not happen in the morning

DrBrain : Based on what you have described its unlikely that it's alarming.

Customer :

I has a CT a year ago of the brain would that have rulled anything out

DrBrain : Yes ct would have ruled out tumor or aneurysm.

Customer :

How about this, if this keeps up with the knots do you think I would benefit from some kind of injection in the neck or upper back

Customer :

I push on my lower head upper neck in the back and it feels crunchy

DrBrain : Yes lidocaine shots would help you to relieve the muscle spasms.
