Hello, my name is***** am one of the expert appraisers here at justanswer. I would be happy to help you. Gibson launched the Firebird design in 1963 with four main models: the Firebird I, II, V, and VII. Each was distinguished by different pickup and hardware configurations, though they all shared thru-body construction and a unique "reversed" body shape with a large lower horn. The Firebird III in specific used chrome hardware, a vibrato tailpece, and two mini-humbucker pickups. It was produced from 1963 to 1970. By mid-1965, Gibson changed the Firebird (as well as its counterpart Thunderbird bass) to a more traditional "non-reversed" body shape. The retail value given is $7000-10,000 but the ctual prices sold at are listed at $6,600-8,500.00 in the last six months. If I can be of further help please let me know.
