what is my 1962 Yamaha Grand worth. It was made for Japan, two pedals. It is a G5
Hi, what is the condition of the piano and what is the length of it on the long side, including keys?
All G5's are 6'6" The keys are fine.
The piano has been refinished in black satin. The condition is fairly good.
Thanks for the information. I'm looking into this for you now.
Thanks for your patience. The biggest factor that will affect the value today is the depreciation from age. This piano is about 10-20 years away from likely needing some significant rebuilding to keep it in excellent playin condition. The G series is Yamaha's lower series with the C and S series above it in quality and price. During the 1960's there were some issues with Japanese pianos brought to the US having humidity issues but that would be on a case to case basis. Based on your description of condition and the current piano market your Yamaha G5 would be valued at approximately $4,600-$5,200 in a private sale. Best wishes!
