I have a violin which I was given over 20yrs ago. Inside there is a typed label which reads; Josef Guarnerius fecitCremonae anno 1746 IHSMy father had the violin restored before I began playing it but didn't have a valuation done. Although I no longer play the violin it is in good condition apart from requiring a new set of strings. As I am not sure whether this is an original Guarnerius, are you able to advise on what would make it an original vs replica and a rough idea on value.
Already Tried: I haven't tried anything so far... This is my first attempt at getting an appraisal.
