I have a Violin made by Gio Batta Morassi. It's date of manufacture is 1972. The model is A. Stradivari. Made in Cremona and numbered #289, also signed by G.B. Morassi. In excellent condition. please give fair appraisal value. Comes with certificate of authenticity.
Gio Batta Morassi violins do show up here and there on the auction market. Signed and with a COA this is fairly valuable. This one from 1972 of a Stradivari would have a value based on its tone, coloration and shape and size. Raw data sometimes is most helpful without the instrument in hand. These have such a range the last few years of sales that I think this would be most helpful to you to see. What is clear looking at the markets over the last ten years is that the value continues to go up for the luthiers work which is good news for you. (the final record is a high end instrument auction..an older record but shows the range to today.)
