JA: What's the make/model/year of your bike?
Customer: 1998 Honda trx 450 es ATV
JA: Are you fixing your bike yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I put a new coil and still no fire
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

Initially, have you checked?

  • if the ignition coil's green wire is tied to a good frame/engine ground; and
  • if the black/yellow wire from the CDI to the ignition coil has pulsating voltage when attempting to start.
