JA: I'm an assistant to the motorcycle mechanic. I work with them to help customers like you.
Customer: The bike starts but stalls when I throttle up. Runs fine @ idle, rough when I throttle then stalls. Got what looked like error msg 1
JA: Is the rough idle intermittent or consistent?
Customer: it doesn't idle rough it runs rough when I throttle up
JA: What is the make/model/year of your car?
Customer: then stalls
JA: Are you fixing your bike yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: its a motor cycle... does Yamaha make a car?
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: When I was riding, It would suddenly run rough and loose torque. It would even out and run fine for a while before it happened again. Following a rain storm, it started, ran for a while then stalled and wouldn't start. crank but not start; then crank start and stall. Now I hear a clicking noise after I turn the ignition off. The Bike has a Power Commander

Hi and welcome to the site, I’m Louie. Sorry you had to wait awhile but I’ll do my best to help.

Initially, proposed preliminary tries (if have not been done):

  • spray compressed air on the electricals/wirings and electronics including the spark plug wires and spark plug holes;
  • drain-clean tank and replace with fresh fuel.
