I have a Harley FXRS. After starting engine; it backfired

Customer Question

I have a Harley FXRS. After starting engine; it backfired through the exhaust. Then after restarting; it had little to no horsepower. Has good compression on both cylinders. Both plugs are firing. Will start with no miss, but has no power. what should i check?
JA: Where exactly do you think the noise is coming from? And how long has this been going on?
Customer: you talking bout the backfire?
JA: What is the model/year of your motorcycle?
Customer: 1990 FXRS Harley Davidson with S&S Rotating Assembly and Carburator
JA: Are you fixing your bike yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes I am. I've run a compression check on both cylinders. they are good, both plugs are firing, now i'm checking the carburator, but found nothing so far
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: no
