Customer Question

I have a 2013 Can Am Spyder. It was parked for 3 weeks. It had been running fine. When I went to start it, it was hard starting. It acted as if it were flooded-wouldn't throttle up. It cleared itself out & finally revved up. When I took it out for a ride, continued to act up...taking a while before it cleared and would rev up. I had the same problem with a car, and it was a sticky injector. Am I on the right track?

Hi Larry, I’m Louie. Sorry you had to wait awhile but I’ll do my best to help.

Initially, it would appear to be a fuel delivery/starvation issue. Proposed preliminary checks (if have not been done) on suspects:

  • • drain-clean tank and replace with fresh fuel (even if just to eliminate as a suspect);
  • • check/clean fuel path (least likely);
  • • test fuel pump output pressure (likely);
  • • check/soak/clean injector (most likely).
