I have a 92 Goldwing Aspencade. I can't get a neutral light.

Customer Question

I have a 92 Goldwing Aspencade. I can't get a neutral light. I don't see the reverse light, but suspect it may be the problem. Start button does nothing even with clutch lever in. Battery is charged. When I shift from reverse in and out there is a switch click. I don't have a schematic to troubleshoot. Ideas?

Hi John and welcome to JustAnswer,

Thank you for the question and your patience. Should you still need assistance for information purposes only...

Initially, if the "...fuses, relays, battery..." check good but still with the described symptom of "...can't get a neutral light...Start button does nothing even with clutch lever in...", then potential suspects are:

  • • faulty gear position/neutral switch (least likely);
  • • loose wire(s) - light green/red and/or green/red (likely);
  • • reverse diode assembly (most likely).
