Customer Question

I have a 2014 ac mudpro. I bought it in 2105 with 0 miles on it. From the day i got it home (from bass pro in denver, i live in gillette wyoming) i"ve had a problem with it acting like its starving for fuel, let off the throttle and it levels back out. Sometimes i could ride for 10 miles without a problem. Between basspro (350 miles one way, done that twice) Great outdoor motor sports in rapid south dakota and hi tech motorsports in billings montana,no one has a clue Basspro changed out the throttle body and wiring harness,the one in rapid didnt know where to start, And billings has been waiting on cat for some "DIRECTION". IN ALL 14 WEEKS,ITS A SINGLE CYCLINDER ENGINE!!! HELP!!

Hi Dean and welcome to JustAnswer,

Thank you for the question and your patience. Should you still need assistance for information purposes only...

Initially, let's do a review of the basics so as to give us a sense of which "DIRECTION" to focus. Proposed preliminary tries (if have not been done):

  • • check the burn color of the spark plug's inner ceramic tip;
  • - if black/sooty, then rich and/or vacuum leak issue;
  • - if very light brown to whitish, then lean and/or an air leak concern;
  • • check the air box and air filter/element;
  • - ensure tight/correct fit;
  • - verify air entry is only through the designated opening;
  • • check the battery voltage;
  • - at least 12.7V when idling;
  • - but not to exceed 14.5V ~ 15.0V when revving;
  • - if overly high, try/run with the regulator temporarily disconnected.
