The cost will vary all depending on what is found to be the issue here. This sounds more like an internal mechanical fault in the transmission since there was a noise issue.Since the transmission light has come on the fault codes need checked and diagnosed to locate the fault. This can run up around $100 to $300 to have diagnosed and then the repair can vary anywhere from $300 to over $1000 in some cases all depending on what is found to be an issue here.
