2012 FLSTFB Fat Boy lo: Replacing the front break pads. I

Customer Question

2012 FLSTFB Fat Boy lo: Replacing the front break pads. I have the caliper off, and bridge bolt removed.
Question: What is the trick to getting the pads themselves to come out? The service manual is unclear. Basically I'm asking... how do i disengage the tabs from the pad springs?

here is a video that should help.

basically, just pop them loose and remove them.

the guy in the video removes the mastercylinder reservoir cap. I would not do that.

unless you top off the brake fluid every weekend, you'll be fine, the fluid displaced by forcing the pistons in will just replace lost level in the reservoir.

check the level at 3/4 full after you are done with the pads.

let me know if you need more help.

if not, please leave a POSITIVE RATING.

thank you,
