I'm having trouble with the clutch on my 1966 Vespa Super

Customer Question

I'm having trouble with the clutch on my 1966 Vespa Super 150. I've replaced the clutch cable but now I'm having trouble getting it to work. Is there something I'm missing? Do I have to compress the clutch or something to get the cable to tighten? I'm no mechanic, though I am a quick learner. Is there a special tool I need.
Thanks for any and all help I can get!

Is there any freeplay at the cable ends?

Is it the old screw-on cable nipple type?

Expert:  Bike-Doc replied 1 year ago.

Sorry to have to ask what may seem like stupid questions, but it is obviously difficult diagnosing problems remotely, I cannot hear, see, touch or smell anything so I have only what a customer tells me to make a correct diagnosis.
Also I dont know how proficient a customer is or what they may have done already. So I need to ask stuff which may seem obvious or unrelated

Is there any freeplay at the cable ends?

Is it the old screw-on cable nipple type?
