Customer Question

Hi, I have 03 Ultra Classic. Recently my mechanic put a new shift lever inside the inner primary into the transmission. I saw him tighten the bolt at the base of the transmission as tight as he possible could. Reason for the shift lever was it was loose and I was having trouble shifting into first. I am having more trouble shifting into first now than before he replaced it. I raised the foot shifter up a little hoping to create more stretch, but still no good. I dropped the bike recently and some oil leaked out. I checked fluid in trans and it was dry. Changed it out. Help, Billy

most shifting problems are caused by a clutch out of adjustment.

- perform the clutch adjustment procedure, followed by the clutch cable adjustment procedure.
