Hi and welcome to JustAnswer,

Thank you for the question and your patience. Should you still need assistance for information purposes only...

Initially, bear with us; re-confirm and post back with the complete model number of the "...chinese made go kart..."

Have you tried starting it with the brake levers pulled in?

Still, and if have not been tried; inspect the battery & ground lines and/or check/clean the battery cables + terminals as a preliminary consideration. Better yet, have the battery externally charged and then LOAD TESTed (even if new and just for the purpose of eliminating it as a suspect).

The unit is a dongfang model GK D110. The battery tested good and yes i have tried with the brake pulled. All of the grounds seem tight and clean. I checked and fuel is getting to the carb and i tested that it did have spark at the spark plug.

Appreciate the post back Tony.

Further tries:

  • • pour a small amount of fuel through the sparkplug hole, re-install the sparkplug and attempt to start;
  • • if able, remove the air box and cover the carb mouth with the palm of your hand while attempting to start to check for suction and if fuel would wet your palm;
  • and if fuel would wet your palm.

Ok, tried that. unit still did not start. There is fuel coming out of the carb while cranking. It does seem to have good suction tho.

If there is fuel and there is spark, then 2 other factors to consider:

  • • compression;
  • • timing.

Propose to have a compression check or better yet, a leak-down test.
