Two possibilities:First, a problem with the clutch release hydraulic system. A bike this age would likely need to have the hydraulic system rebuilt with a new piston kit in the master cylinder and new seal on the clutch slave piston.Second more expensive possibility is an internal problem with the clutch internal parts such as broken or warped plates or grooved inner and outer clutch basket and center hub.Since the first possibility is the simplest and least expensive repair try that first before going into the engine to inspect the clutch components.
