- how did you determine "voltage regulator is good"?- what is the voltage at the white/black wire to the coil? - tell me what was happening when this problem started.tell me everything you can.Steve
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I removed coil and voltage regulator and a friend checked them w/ multimeter and he said they were good. I don't know what the voltage to coil is. Bike would run rough after an hour or so, hesitated untill throttled up 5 mph more or so. Bike just quit mid ride. carb gets fuel, battery is good.

your symptoms indicate a problem with the charging system (voltage regulator and/or stator) is the most likely.you cannot test a voltage regulator on the bench with any degree of certainty.have you friend stop by with his multimeter and perform the following battery voltage measurements:- ignition OFF.- ignition ON.- with the start button depressed.- with the engine at about 2,000 rpm (fast idle). let me know what you find.we ca continue then.Steve
