It should be fairly easy but you have to remove anything
in the way like fairings and if the coolant pipe is
in the way you have to drain your coolant and
remove the coolant hose.
Disconnect your negative battery cable.
Take the nut off that holds the cable
on the starter motor.
Remove the two bolts that hold the starter on
the engine. Lift the starter slightly and pull
or wiggle it out. It cannot be lifted very much
as there is an o-ring seal on the end that
is inside the engine.
Check the o-ring when you get the starter out.
If the starter is hard to get out it is probably
just the o-ring so it just needs some gentle
prying or pulling to free it.
