(Posted by JustAnswer at customer's request) Hello. I would like to request the following Expert Service(s) from you: Live Phone Call. Let me know if you need more information, or send me the service offer(s) so we can proceed.

Welcome,

Not near a phone but if you want to continue here
please check if your CDI unit has a red/black wire.
The CDI ignitions were changed from AC to DC sometime
around 98-2000. I want to confirm which type you have
on your bike.
Thanks

has red and white wires
Expert:  Wayne S. replied 1 year ago.
What i need to know is if you have battery voltage
going to the CDI box on red/black wire
with the ignition on.
The wire would go into the CDI box (next to a blue/white wire)
Let me know if these wires exist on your CDI box.

Hi and welcome to JustAnswer,Thank you for the question and your patience. And for information purposes only...Initially, do you still need help with this? ....the question shows as open/opted out.Still, proposed preliminary checks for a no-spark issue (if have not been done) with the use of a multi-meter when attempting to start: • low pulsating AC voltage between the red & white wires of the pickup coil to the CDI;• high pulsating DC voltage between the brown & green wires of the exciter/capacitor charging coil to the CDI;• pulsating DC voltage between the orange wire & GND from the CDI to the ignition coil.Additionally, ensure that none of the above red, white, brown nor green wires read a continuity (short) to any of the 3 stator wires. Please post back results / observations of the above once tested.
