My 2009 Polaris Ranger started making a racket and couldn't

Customer Question

My 2009 Polaris Ranger started making a racket and couldn't get it out of reverse. The next morning I started it and I was able to shift it just fine. Then when it heated up it started making a racket again. It has 410 hours on it. Drive belt?

Hi Mike, thanks for getting back, what you need to first look at is the drive belt for the clutches, you can remove the outer clutch cover and then be also to get a visual on the belt, you want to look to see of the belt is coming apart, if so it can the actually to lock up the clutches where it keeps force on the driven converter which then will not allow it to shift back and forth.
Something you can try, is if its gear and or reverse try shifting it with the engine running, then turn the engine off and see if it will shift, if so then likely you took out the drive belt.
Let me know what you find
Thanks Mike
