My 1999 Suzuki 1200 Bandit starter drive train started sliping at about 20,000 miles. I've fixed it with Permatex high strength thread lock but it started sliping again after a few thousand miles. What is a permanent fix for this problem?
the starter clutch #3 is what fails when the starter slips and will not keep the starter motor engaged.

Yes, I know that the two parts of "3" in the picture are slipping. I spread Permatex high strengh thread lock between them and the threads on "4" which worked for a few thousand more miles. What is a permanent fix?
Sorry about that the permanent fix is to replace the starter clutch #3 as the one way clutch has failed in it.
