I have a 2001 polaris sportsman 500 the bendix drive went from water then it seemed like the relay went so i replaced them both now the relay is just clicking and the voltage at the starter is just about six volts the new relay has no ground wire it looks like it is internal can you please help thanks
Hello how are you
What is your battery voltage 1. with the key off 2. key on 3. start button depressed
Frustrated you? The voltage is 13 at baqttery 13 at relay and six out of relay
Sounds like the relay is shorted internally. Will the starter turn the engine over when you short the two large posts together?
the relay is slightly different than the one i had it has no ground wire no it will not start grounding the two posts together could it be on backwards the reply button on this chat is only working sporaticaly
It does read 6 volts when you try to start it correct

Why did you close the chat i got no answer at all was the chat not working roperly on your end also ?
The chat was experiencing problems. If the relay is clicking and only allowing 6 volts out of it, and the battery has 13 volts, this tells us the relay is faulty.
