honda: atv..electrical problem..reverse it acts like it is retard mode

2007 atv honda 400 fourman has a electrical problem shifting when it is in esp mode you cant shift it with the up and down 1 2 3 4 5 then in reverse it acts like it is retard mode then if you go auto shift mode it flases esp and 5 flashes

This is the angle sensor ( motor lock)

Checl all fuses

Check battery voltage

 

There is 14 steps to take in order to find the problem. You will need a hand held digital multi-meter before you can test those.

 

There is alos numerous steps to take in order to erase the code and retrieve the code again.

 

I do recommend a service manual, as it has all steps that need to be taken to resolve this issue. Could be as simple as replcing the angle sensor or as hard as testing each individual part.

I can possibly upload a manual for you, to give you step by step if you like. Since your a mechanic, im sure you have a multi-meter and we can test the parts.
