Hello how are you
You have a bad rad cap. Did you replace with an oem cap? What is the pressure on the cap
13 lb. cap that was replaced
That really shouldnt matter, your cap is bad
not sure ordered it through bike bandit
The fan does run correct?
yes have even tried running fan full time.when temp light comes on fan is not running as water is not circulating because it is below inlet and outlet tubes
Replace the cap. It is not holding pressure, keeping the coolant in the system. It is also not allowing the coolant to return to the system after cool down
The cap is responsible for all of that. You can get a replacement form any local auto parts store, just needs to be no more than 14 psi
there is pressure on the cap when I remove it but what you say makes sense .just can;t see getting a bad replacement cap.
The cap needs to maintain the 13 psi it says on the sticker, othrwise it will allow the coolant to be pushed right out of the system. Just like whats happening to you. I have found new bad caps in the past. Its not that uncommon. You should be able to get a replacement for less than 10 bucks
well I will try another cap as I am out of options and totally frustrated.
It really sounds that simple. If you have more problems or questions let me know and we will get it figured out. Please remember to click on the accept button at the end of this chat, it is the only way i am compensated for my time...Thanks
Refill it and start the engine with the cap off. Look to see of the coolant is circulating, if not you likely have a broken impeller.
