it's hard to say without hearing it? Is it only when you press the start button? once started it's fine, no noise?

Customer replied 996 days and 1 hours ago.

CORRECT POSSIBLLY TIMING? OR LOWER END TROUBLE JUST THOUGHT IF ENGINE TROUBLE OR KNOCK IT WOULD BE ALWAYS THERE CORRECT

yes you'd hear it when the engine is running. Does it only clunk when you press the start button? once started it's fine, no noise?

Customer replied 996 days and 1 hours ago.

THAT IS CORRECT ONLY WHEN YOU HIT THE ATRTER BUTTON ONCE RUNNING DOES GREAT RUNS GREAT IDLES GREAT

is your bike still under warranty? if so, i'd take it to the dealership to have it inspected. If not, i'd make sure all starter connections are clean and tight.

loose connections cause a voltage drop which would cause the starter not to engage properly, or hesitate, knocking on the ring gear teeth not being strong enough to engage into them, causing a clunking noise.
