Customer Question

I have an 2004 American Ironhorse LSC. The bike cranks up but when I ride for a short distances, the bike stalls. Almost as if I have run out of gas. However, gas tank is full. I am able to restart the bike and travel a short distance again and it stalls again. It has a S&S Super G Carburator Shorty. Do anyone know why this happens?

Optional Information:
Year: 2004
Make (other): American Ironhorse
Model: LSC
Engine: S&S 111

Nothing as of yet. I hear this has been a problem with AIH motorcycles. I am trying to find out what was some solutions to this problem.

Hello and welcome,
The first thing that would come to my mind with this problem is that the gas cap is not venting to the atmosphere and creating a vapor lock in the fuel tank.
Check the vent in the cap to make sure its venting. If possible borrow a vented cap or buy a spare and try the bike again.
If you are getting plenty of spark, fuel flow but the engine is dying after a short ride this would be the most logical fix.

Thank you
Wayne
