hi there, i have a gsxr1000k1...just recently when i switch the heads lights or indicators on the lcd speedo displays goes off and the rev counter goes to zero....all the front lights go out or dont come on. however the rear light and brake light works fine, with no interference.....ive checked the battery connections all ok and every other conector that i can get too. all seem ok
help please

Hi and welcome to JustAnswer,

Your description indicates that most likely, a loose connection exists either on the +12 supply of the LCD cluster or the ground. A couple of initial checks, tries of a fix:

  • check, clean (scrape a bit to expose fresh metal) the terminals/pins on the big connector;
  • ensure that the black / white wire from the LCD is connected to ground. Must read 0 ohms; in some instances, hardwiring an additional ground wire would help;
  • check/ensure consistent +12 on the orange / green wire.
