The Polaris Ranger is hard to start, and after it gets hot

Customer Question

The Polaris Ranger is hard to start, and after it gets hot it won't restart. I changed the carborator and magnito coil but nothing changed. Any advice?

The valves need to be adjusted. The intake valves need to be set at .004 inches to .006 inches. The exhaust valves should be set at .006 inches to .008 inches. When one of the valves is too tight the engine will not build enough compression to start or run properly. As the engine heats up, everything expands and the valves get tighter, thus resulting in no compression build up.
